Il s&rsquo;agissait litt\u00e9ralement d&rsquo;une sezession (= scission) de la traditionnelle Wiener K\u00fcnstlerhaus. Les artistes, pour la plupart des jeunes, \u00e9taient \u00e0 la recherche d&rsquo;une propre variante du Jugendstil, comme l&rsquo;avaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 fait d&rsquo;autres avant eux \u00e0 Munich et Berlin.
